Ministries
A Ministry is a service provided to the Parish Community
by a group of volunteers within the parish who organise,
manage and participate in particular parish/church activites which are essential to the running and enrichment of the parish.
The Parish is always seeking volunteers, so if you would like to be part of any of the Ministries please contact the orginiser of the Ministry or

Parish Council
Parish Council Members - 2025
The Parish Council is a peak Ministry within the parish. The Council consists of the Parish Priest
together with parishioners elected by the Parish community and those co-opted by the Parish Priest.
The Parish Council together with the Parish Priest and parishioners provides advice, makes decisions and carries out actions for
the ongoing life and development of the parish community. In so doing it is building a more dynamic and
vibrant parish community which is demonstrated in faith, fellowship, evangelisation, worship and service.
The role of the Council is also to promote the Church’s mission to live and communicate the love, values and teaching of Christ in our world.

Finance Committee
The Finance Committee is the Ministry responsible for the parish finances. The Committee consists of the Parish Priest and
members of the Parish community co-opted by the Parish Priest.
The Finance Committee provides regular updates to the Parish Priest and the parish community on the financial position of the parish. Major expenditure items
are discussed at its meetings and decisions are made on the approval or rejection of major projects within the parish. The Chair of the Finance Committee
authorises all expenditure which is then approved by the Parish Priest.

Liturgy Committee
The Liturgy Committee is a Ministry that collaborates with the Parish Priest, Parish Pastoral Council and the Archdiocese Office of Perth to develop and
establish parish liturgical objectives with attention to the specific needs of our faith community, thus enriching the liturgy celebrations within the parish.
The Committee consists of volunteers from within the parish community.
Responsibilities
To discern the parish’s liturgical prayer needs.
To coordinate the planning, scheduling and organising of the seasonal, special celebrations and Mass services.
To support proclaimers/readers, ministers of the Eucharist, lectors, Music and Choir etc.
Meeting Schedule
The Liturgy Committee meets on the second Wednesday of the month at 5.30PM in the church hall.
The Coordinator is Marian Dantas-Dias. Marian attends the 6PM Saturday weekend Mass.
Maria Nicolosi and Janet Shenton who are some of the other members of the Liturgy Committee attend the 9.30AM Sunday Mass.

Music and Choir
The Music and Choir is the Ministry responsible for the music and singing at Mass, liturgical celebrations and events. The Ministry consists of members of the Parish community. Each weekend Mass has its own music and singing group.

The Music and Choir Ministry works closely with the Liturgy Committee to set the music themes for the Mass and other liturgical celebrations.

Altar Linen
The Altar Linen is the Ministry responsible for maintening the altar linen for Mass, liturgical celebrations and events. The Ministry consists of
members of the Parish community.

Altar Society
The Altar Society is the Ministry responsible for maintaining the sanctity and cleanliness of the alter. The Ministry consists of
members of the Parish community. There is a for the ministry with one or two members in each roster period.

Children's Liturgy
Youth group
Acolytes
Acolytes assist the priest during the liturgical services. Acolytes ensure the altar and the sacred vessels are propely prepared and
distribute the Eucherast to the faithful. This parish has a team of Acolytes who are co-opted by the Parish Priest.

Altar Servers
Altar Servers consist of both young men and women who provide supporting tasks at the altar during liturgical services. Some of the tasks they perform are: carry the cross to and from the altar before and after the Mass,
hold the lectionary and notes for the celebrant, present the bread, wine and water to the celebrant during the Mass and receive the gifts from the congregation.

Special Ministers
Collection Counters
The Collection Counters is a Ministry that is responsible for counting, collating and banking the money donated through the First, Second collections and
any other collections conducted in the parish. The Ministry consists of volunteers from within the parish community.
Usually there is a pair of volunteers responsible for this activity and may do this after the last Sunday Mass or at another day and time that meets their
needs.

Greeters/Ushers
Proclaimers
The Proclaimers Ministry is responsible for reciting the readings and prayers of the faithful for all weekend Masses. The Ministry consists of
volunteers of the Parish community. There is a roster for each weekend mass with at least two proclaimers rostered at each mass.
