Safeguarding at Our Lady Help of Christians
What is Safeguarding?
The Catholic Archdiocese of Perth, in accordance with the National Safeguarding Standards,
is committed to providing a safe and secure environment for all its members, leaders,
and especially its children and adults at risk.
The Diocese recognises the need to protect children, young people and vulnerable
adults and aims to achieve this through the Safeguarding Project.
The project is child focused and informed by a fundamental belief that
children have the right to physical and psychological safety at all times.
Our parish of Our Lady Help of Christians is proud to support the Catholic Archdiocese of
Perth in its Safeguarding initiative. We are fortunate to have a largely faith-filled
community and are surrounded by abundant examples of good, christian living.
Our Safeguarding program is a step in the direction and is committed to uphold,
promote and maintain high standards of emotional physical and psychological safety, especially for our vulnerable parishioners.
Our Lady Help of Christians parish acknowledges and is committed to our collective responsibility to safeguard
and promote the welfare of children and adults within the Catholic Archdiocese of Perth.

Safeguarding Prayer
Lord Jesus,
Hear our voices as we pray for your care and protection.
Strengthen and guide us as we strive to make our Catholic
communities a safe place for all.
Give us the wisdom and courage to listen with open hearts, see with
open eyes, and speak out to ensure children and adults are safe,
loved, respected, and cared for.
We also pray for those who have been harmed. Give them the
courage to seek the truth and to heal.
May we all strive to understand our collective responsibility to work
together to safeguard our Catholic communities.
We ask this through Christ, our Lord,
Amen
